Currently credit card orders cannot be accepted. Money Orders & Certified Personal Checks are acceptable. (US Postal Money Orders Preferred for out-of-state orders on Mirrors.)
To make ordering as easy as possible you can simply e-mail me describing your interest. Existing pieces will be shipped upon receipt of payment. All work will require a non-refundable 50% deposit. Work will be shipped or delivered upon receipt of balance.
Up to 3 samples will be provided per room or design for a fee of $400.00, which is due before beginning. A percentage or all of this fee will be deducted from the project fee if one of of the original samples is approved. Deduction is determined by the cost of materials required to complete the samples. If additional samples are required any additional fees shall be determined at that time. The original fee, of course, will no longer be refunded in part or all.

Wall Glazing
In the NYC area the prices are as follows. Outside NYC travel and overnight accommodations are extra.
1 Color Glaze over Solid Base Coat - Starts at $10.00 per Sq. Ft. Add $2.00 per square foot for "negative applications" (Where 2 people are required to achieve finish) and each additional glaze coat.
(Includes minor wall repairs, primer coat, base coat & glaze coat. Does not include plaster skim coat).
Faux Finishes
Finishes such as Faux Marbre (marble), Faux Bois (wood grain) & others are available on a per project basis.
Gilding
Both water & oil gilding are available. Pricing can vary greatly according to project requirements. Gold & Silver Leaf: Generally oil gilding will start at $125.00 per Linear Foot (3" wide molding or frame). Water Gilding projects start at $225.00 per Linear Foot. Heavily carved surfaces are more expensive than flat surfaces. Real Gold & Silver Leaf is not included in the price and is determined by market price at time of project. Aluminum, Dutch Metal, Copper & Variegated Leaf are included in the price except in certain circumstances, i.e. Large surfaces, such as walls or ceilings, are to be gilded. (Surface preparation requirements factor greatly in pricing considerations).
Consultation
Consultation fees are based on 2 categories: Residential & Commercial
Residential: $100.00 per hour with a 2 hour minimum
Commercial: $100.00 per hour with a 3 hour minimum
I will show you samples during our
free initial meeting. When a finish is chosen we will set up a date for the
actual finish instruction. For an additional fee I will pick up the materials
for you or I can give you a list of tools and material for you to purchase and
have on hand for the day of instruction. I will make sure you have a thorough
understanding of the process before leaving and will be available if you should
need me to stay longer. If that is the case I will cap the fee at $400.00 for
the day for Residential and $500.00 for Commercial. Either way it is
considerably less than if I were to do the project with my crew.

Gold Leaf on Glass (Verre Eglomise) - start at $10.00 per square inch. Complexity of design and size determines final price
Frames for Canvas/Glass - Varies according to finish & size (refer to Mirrors)
Stenciling
Prices based on stencil design and time required. Prices include application and in some cases materials only. Stencils remain the property of Michael Schaefer unless a purchase price is agreed upon by both parties. In some cases a fee for cutting the stencils will be charged in addition to application fees.

Cancellation Fees
A substantial fee shall be assessed to any project cancelled without 72 hours notice. A 50% cancellation fee shall be assessed to any "on-site" project. Client will be responsible for any expenses incurred as a result of preparation for travel in addition to cancellation fees.
